Guess What....Were Having Another Baby!

So great news, but a little late posting it on here. We found out about two months ago that we are having baby #2. Boy did it take a while to find out too. I knew that I was pregnant, but after being 3 weeks late and still getting negative test after negative test...I began to wonder if I was wrong. After taking about 10 test (from the dollar store), I gave it a break for about a week. I then took another (dollar store test) and the second line came out very faint, so I decided to wait until the next morning to take a super strong test. The next morning it came back positive again!

I knew it, I knew I was pregnant! Well then it came time to go to the doctor and confirm it. Went to the doctor confirmed pregnancy (6 weeks according to the doctor and my menstral cycle), then it was time to schedule a first ultrasound. I was so excited to see how this little one compared to Joey. Let me just tell you...I didn't see a thing. They pulled up the ultrasound on the big screen in front of me and nothing was coming up. They told me I was definitly pregnant, but they weren't sure as to how far along I was because there was no baby.

Needless to say, I was devastated...I thought for sure something was wrong and thought for sure I was 6 weeks. So therefore, I had to go through some more blood work...and then another ultrasound was scheduled. Finally, the second ultrasound there was something. There was a little peanut in there! I was so relieved...for over two weeks I worried that something was wrong...but there it was right in front of me on the big screen a little peanut growing inside of me.

We are so excited for the miracle of this little one! We can't wait to see how Joey and this little one will be together. We have been trying to explain to Joey that there is a baby in mommy's belly and he finally gets the concept. He is always wanting to kiss the baby, so he is always kissing mommy's belly...it is the cutest thing.

Well here are some photos of baby #2 in the making...

Halloween 2009

So this is my son's third Halloween...and to be honest I think it was one of the best thus far. My husband decided earlier this week that our son's costume would be a BUM/Hobo...but of course, I had to make it...lol! But there was really nothing much too it. I started with a tea-stained t-shirt that I rubbed mustard and A-1 sauce stains on, then a pair of camo pants that I ripped holes in and cut one of the legs off of with a star fabric patch on the butt of the pants, cut holes in the toes of some old shoes, cut the finfures off some old gloves, and finished it off with a cardboard box sign hanging around his neck that said "Why lie I need Candy". Everyone got a kick out of the costume and loved the sign. And my husband and I were both really surprised that he left the sign, hat, and gloves on the whole night.

We went from house to house to house. He had such a blast. All he kept saying was, "More Candy, More Candy." His bucket was so full and so heavy that he was dragging it on the ground by the end of the night...lol! All in all he had a blast and we had a blast!

The only thing that stunk about the night was that we had to go through and check all his candy. My husband said, "You know it's sad, when I was a kid I ate whatever was in my bucket on Halloween...now we have to go through and make sure our kids candy is safe." I was like that is so true...it is sad that really some people just can't be trusted these days.

But he did enjoy a huge sucker when we got home..lol!

Village Venture Craft Event

So this past weekend, I had the opportunity to travel to the cute little town of Claremont, California for the Village Venture Craft Show with my friend and fellow crafter Rochelle. We had a blast driving up there, setting up, and spending the day in beautiful California. We also took a trip to the world famous Ikea (my first time)...and let me just say I fell in love with the place.

The weekend went well! A lot of people, beautiful weather...couldn't ask for anything better.

Here are a few shots of our booth.

Custom Orders are the BEST!

This week I have been busy with over 3 custom orders! I love custom orders, it is so great to come up with something new. I have been covered in glue up to my armpits and paper up to my head...lol! Not to mention all the paint that I am still trying to clean out from under my finger nails.

I have had such a great time with these custom orders. I have also been working on some sample wedding invitations for a friend that I graduated from high school with.

I feel like super mom and super crafter this week, but no complaints...I love staying busy.

Here are the frames that I have been working on for a customer for a bachlorette party photo.

And here are some of the samples of the wedding invitations...although I made like 8 different samples.

My Day Job...the Highlight of my Career

So needless to say I have been very busy lately trying to complete some custom orders that I have during the night, but during the day I have been Potty Training my son like crazy. Can't complain at all though, because it is really paying off.

This past weekend I came up with a great idea in my mind. I created a Potty Chart and a Treasure Chest for my son, so that we could embark on our Potty Adventure. The Potty Chart I created is broke down into 13 weeks and every time he pees or poops on the potty he gets to add a star to the chart.

We started off saying that every 10 stars in a week he gets to pick one toy out of the Treasure Chest, but we had to change that as soon as he decided he was going to pee on the potty a total of 7 times in the first day...so we changed the 10 stars to 20+ stars...lol!

I have to say I am one proud mama. Within one week of training he was already coming up to us and telling us he had to go "pee-pee". It is the cutest thing in the world when he comes up and say "pee-pee, mama"...lol! So this week I purchased a folding potty seat to take out with us during the day and some cloth training pants, just in case he decides to go in his undies while we are out and about.

Here are just a few photos of his potty chart and treasure chest. Please excuse my painting job, painting is not one of my big strenghts.

Here he is getting his first toy from the Treasure Chest...he had a total of 43 stars this week!

Back into the Just of things

I know, I know...it has been a really long time since I have posted on my blog, and from here on out I am promising to post on a weekly basis.

So after a long, great weekend at Harvest Festival...things are starting to get back to normal. Harvest Festival was wonderful. I had a great time hanging out with great friends and seeing all of my friends and family stop by our booth to check things out. I was so grateful to share a booth with my friend Rochelle. Our booth looked great.

Besides taking a couple of days to relax from the longs hours I put in to get ready for the show...some other exciting things happened. We have been trying to potty train my two year old son now for a couple of weeks and I am proud to say that he took his first poop and pee on the potty all by himself, well except for the fact of me helping him get up on the potty because he is too short...lol! I have to say I am one proud mama. I know, I know it is sad that the highlight of my week is my son going poop and pee on the potty, but hey if you have kids you understand. It is a work in progress and I have to say that he is doing really well.

As for the rest of the week, I have a couple custom orders I need to get to work on and I have some inventory to get ready for another show that I will be attending in October in California. Once again, I will be sharing a booth with my friend Rochelle in Claremont, CA on October 24th from 9am-5pm. It should be a great show and I am very excited for it.

Where Brainstorming Leads You....to GREAT IDEAS!

This past weekend was a busy one! A craft fair downtown for two nights, which lead to brainstorming with a friend on new ideas for my business. We came up with so many great things...where learning how to sew is going to take place very soon. I have been racking my brain for days on how to create these Cookie Sheet Calendars that we came up with and I finally just went for it. Here are just a few photos of the almost finished product. All that is left is the numbers, which I am creating out of glass marbles and turning them into magnets. Each month is magnetized and can be switched out, and there is even a little spot for a photo. I think that it turned out very well...and this got me thinking of another idea that I am going to start working on this week for the holidays. I am so excited to work on some new things and bring something different to the table!

Baking Extravaganza!!

So yesterday we had a great time baking it up in the kitchen. Although I am trying to lose weight that I still have from two years ago when I had my little one...I thought it would be fun to bake some cupcakes with my little man. Lets just say it was a mess of FUN!!

Ingredients to a great frosted YUMMY Cupcake:

1 little man with a cute baking apron
1 mommy that buys great Funfetti cupcake mix
1 huge metal mixing bowl that we could sit little man in
3 eggs
1 cup water
1/3 cup oil
1 huge mixing spoon
A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE AND FUN

It was so fun watching my little guy with the ingredients. First thing we dumped the cupcake mix into the bowl (powder mix) and he decides he is going to try to eat it...lol! It was all over him. Next in with the water, oil, and three eggs. I cracked each egg on the side of the bowl and plooped it into the bowl, then held it up in the air and he watched all of the egg gew slide out of the egg. I know what he was thinking (I wonder if mom would be mad if I just grabbed the gew and strung it everywhere), but he held back until mommy started mixing. Once I started mixing I let him have a shot and he was doing really well until he decided he wanted to take a huge spoonful for himself...lol! So once we were done mixing I let him dip his fingers in for a little taste...hello, everyone tastes the cupcake mix when they are done mixing and who doesn't like the spoon (wink, wink)! Needless to say our cupcakes turned out great!

Here are a couple photos from our adventure in the kitchen:

A Nervous Entry

Hello there! This is my first blog as a blogger. I have heard so much about blogging from friends and family and I thought why not give it a shot. It is not only a great way to communicate between friends and family, but it is a great way to journal about my daily events! It is crazy how you go from writing in a paper journal everyday to posting your daily events and thoughts on the internet. The joy of technology! I have to say that for my first blog, this isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I have to admit I was a little nervous to write my first blog, but once you sit down and do it the words just keep pouring out.

As to that, I have a wonderful day in store! Spending the day with my little guy, maybe a craft project in the works for him and I. It is always the best to watch him paint or color, because it reminds me of myself as I do my crafts everyday for my business. The creativity and the look on his face is how I feel while I am doing my work. Even though he is only 21 months, he has alot of passion for coloring and painting...maybe he is taking after his mother's artistic ability....lol, in my dreams!
