Halloween 2009

So this is my son's third Halloween...and to be honest I think it was one of the best thus far. My husband decided earlier this week that our son's costume would be a BUM/Hobo...but of course, I had to make it...lol! But there was really nothing much too it. I started with a tea-stained t-shirt that I rubbed mustard and A-1 sauce stains on, then a pair of camo pants that I ripped holes in and cut one of the legs off of with a star fabric patch on the butt of the pants, cut holes in the toes of some old shoes, cut the finfures off some old gloves, and finished it off with a cardboard box sign hanging around his neck that said "Why lie I need Candy". Everyone got a kick out of the costume and loved the sign. And my husband and I were both really surprised that he left the sign, hat, and gloves on the whole night.

We went from house to house to house. He had such a blast. All he kept saying was, "More Candy, More Candy." His bucket was so full and so heavy that he was dragging it on the ground by the end of the night...lol! All in all he had a blast and we had a blast!

The only thing that stunk about the night was that we had to go through and check all his candy. My husband said, "You know it's sad, when I was a kid I ate whatever was in my bucket on Halloween...now we have to go through and make sure our kids candy is safe." I was like that is so true...it is sad that really some people just can't be trusted these days.

But he did enjoy a huge sucker when we got home..lol!

Village Venture Craft Event

So this past weekend, I had the opportunity to travel to the cute little town of Claremont, California for the Village Venture Craft Show with my friend and fellow crafter Rochelle. We had a blast driving up there, setting up, and spending the day in beautiful California. We also took a trip to the world famous Ikea (my first time)...and let me just say I fell in love with the place.

The weekend went well! A lot of people, beautiful weather...couldn't ask for anything better.

Here are a few shots of our booth.
